The most basic form of a power splitter is a simple "T" connection, which has one input and two outputs. If the "T" is mechanically symmetrical, a signal applied to the input will be divided into two output signals, equal in amplitude and phase. Splitters evenly split the RF signal to 2 or more ports that allow 2 or more antennas to be connected to a single RF signal source. The arrangement is simple and it works, with limitations. Power splitters are one of the passive components used in DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems). Power dividers, also known as power dividers, when used in reverse, power combiners and directional couplers are passive devices are used mostly in the field of radio technology. Power entering the output port is coupled to the isolated port but not to the coupled port. A directional coupler designed to split power equally between two ports is called a hybrid coupler. Reactive power splitter also called cavity power splitter, it is much different from the wilkinson type. Designer makes it as cavity to capable of high power in-building system or distributed antenna system.
